In Old Ireland…
the flitting was fairly common, and the hens and ducks were so clever, the minute they saw the herd coming up the lane with the donkey and cart, they knew they were for flitting again (moving to a new home), and they promptly laid down on their backs to have their legs tied for their journey to their new home.
